Between March 23 and 27, 2026, CRITHINKNET – Portuguese Network for Critical Thinking – will host the Critical Thinking Conference, under the theme Dialoguing and Learning to Disagree in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Ethical Challenges for Education. This event aligns with the network's mission to promote debate, reflection, and knowledge sharing on critical thinking, in a global context marked by rapid technological evolution and the growing presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in everyday life.
At a time when AI is redefining ways of communicating, learning, working, and participating in the public sphere, ethical issues such as algorithmic justice, privacy, autonomy, and the impact of technology on democratic dynamics become central. While intelligent systems create opportunities for innovation and social development, they also raise challenges that require rigorous analysis, responsible deliberation, and strong critical thinking skills.
